Carrom originated in India where it was invented by the maharajas in the 18th century. The word Carrom means strike and rebound , an appropriate name for the game. The overall objective of Carrom is to earn the maximum points by using the striker with a flick of the finger to drive the carrom men into any of the four corner pockets and then the queen. Sounds simple but it takes time to master.
Gliss powder or wax is often used to improve the play experience!
