In Space 2003

Mars Exploration Rover NASA’s twin rovers, named Spirit and Opportunity, launched separately in 2003 and landed three weeks apart in January 2004. They made important discoveries about wet environments on ancient Mars that may have been favorable for supporting microbial life. Although Spirit ceased communicating with Earth in March 2010, Opportunity continued its work on the Red Planet until June 2018.  No response has been received from Opportunity since Sol 5111, amid a planet-encircling dust storm on Mars. With the last uplink transmission on Sol 5352 (Feb. 12, 2019), the rover recovery efforts are concluded. The Opportunity mission is complete.

Metal Earth is made from high quality steel sheets.  Each model features amazing detail with parts cut from one or more 4 inch (10 cm) square sheets.  Easy to follow instructions are included with each kit and NO GLUE OR SOLDER REQUIRED!  Simply snip out the pieces and bend the tabs through corresponding connections points.  Metal Earth models provide a high level of intricacy and detail and as such requires a keen eye and fine delicate building skills to construct them.  They’ll keep you entertained for hours and the result will be an eye-catching display others will marvel over.

There are many different styles and themes to choose from in the Metal Earth range as well as tools and display cases. Metal Earth is one of several quality brands of DIY building kits in our STEM Engineering & Construction range.
