3D Metal Model Kit

The Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is found in many open habitats including fields, meadows, weedy areas, marshes, and roadsides.

Its range covers Australia, Hawaii, and other Pacific Islands, Southern Canada south through all of the United States, Central America, and most of South America.

Adults make massive migrations from August-October, flying thousands of miles south to hibernate along the California coast and in central Mexico. A few overwinter along the Gulf coast or south Atlantic coast. Along the way, Monarchs stop to feed on flower nectar and to roost together at night. At the Mexico wintering sites, butterflies roost in trees and form huge aggregations that may have millions of individuals.

Metal Earth is made from high quality steel sheets.  Each model features amazing detail with parts cut from one or more 4 inch (10 cm) square sheets.  Easy to follow instructions are included with each kit and NO GLUE OR SOLDER REQUIRED!  Simply snip out the pieces and bend the tabs through corresponding connections points.  Metal Earth models provide a high level of intricacy and detail and as such require a keen eye and fine delicate building skills to construct them.  They’ll keep you entertained for hours and the result will be an eye-catching display others will marvel over.

There are many different styles and themes to choose from in the Metal Earth range as well as tools and display cases. Metal Earth is one of several quality brands of DIY building kits in our STEM Engineering & Construction range.
